November 2011 – Collection Unit Installed at Community Center!

We are THRILLED to announce that a community recycling collection unit has been put into place at the Coal Creek Canyon Community Center.  Residents may bring their recyclable products and dispose of them in the green unit located in the parking lot of the Community Center.  It is a single-stream system, so there is no need to separate the different types of recyclables.  All recyclables can be mixed together.  Please do not dump in a plastic bag.  Empty the bag into the container at the center and take your plastic bag home for reuse or proper disposal.

We would like to send a HUGE thank you to the CCCIA for hosting the service to the community as well as to Clean It Roll Off Service (720-327-3918) for providing the service.  This is a great service for our community.  It will save many of us from hauling our recyclables down to town.  The convenience of the unit will help some others be able to recycle materials they haven’t been recycling before.  If you aren’t already recycling, you’ll be amazed at the reduction in the volume of your trash!

A few considerations to help this program be successful (… and then to hopefully branch out to more locations!)

  • Please review the guide below for acceptable materials and do not dispose of materials that are not accepted.
  • Do not dispose of any compostable materials and rinse out containers so we don’t attract the bears.  If the collection unit repeatedly attracts bears, then we’ll have to remove it.
  • Support the CCCIA with a membership and Clean It with your roll-off or property clean-up business!!

We want this program to be successful in order to fully support the diversion of recyclable waste from going to landfills.  Recycling helps conserve the natural resources required to make them and the things that are made out of them!  In some cases, recycling materials requires less energy than making the same material out of previously unused materials!
